We went out to breakfast at a cafe with Anthony and then walked down to the Borghese Park. Along the way we stopped by the crypt of a church called Santa Maria della Concezione. What was so unusual about this crypt is that it is decorated with the bones of 4,000 Capuchin (yeah like the coffee) monks. It was kinda cool, but mostly I just found it disturbing. Once we made it to the park Hannah led us to a fountain and she waded in, despite my warnings that it was illegal to swim in the fountains in Rome. She ignored me and as if on cue a Roman security officer arrived and yelled for her to get out of the fountain. I'm glad she is leaving today, because I have really gotten sick of looking after her and ushering her around like a child.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in the park. When some rain clouds rolled over I decided that it was time to find some food. It started pouring rain while we were looking for a Chinese restaurant; I danced in the rain while Anthony ducked into the nearest Chinese restaurant. After eating we went back to the hostel so Hannah could finish packing up her things and I could figure out which bus would take her to the airport. I sent Hannah off on the bus which was a relief. Don?t get me wrong, I don?t regret doing this trip with her? It?s just the whole trip has been really bittersweet, it has really made me realize that we are heading down separate paths. It is sad to realize that this might be the beginning of the end of our friendship.
Anthony decided that we couldn?t spend our last night in Rome in the hostel, so we spent another night out in city.
