Hi all I've been in Vietnam for over a week now and I'm having a blast! I've spent afew days in Hanoi, which is the capital of Vietnam, and its even crazier than Bangkok. There are at least 10 motorbikes for every car, no exaggeration, and in the old quarter, there's no pavement, so ur crushed to the wall trying not to get run over by masses of motorbikes. Crossing the road is errr interesting haha. I've also been to a little town called Sapa in the Tonkinese Alps, which has loads of kool scenery. Theres also loads of minority mountain tribes living around there, so I did a Bruce Parry and went on a trek and homestay with them, which was really good. They have a lethal drink called rice wine which they brew themselves, its like paint stripper haha. I've also visited Ha Long Bay, which is a world famous bay (obviously) with loads of huge rocks sticking out of the water. I stayed overnight on a boat right out in the bay, it was awesome cos it was so tranquil. One of the highlight of the trip so far was swimming in Ha Long bay as the sun went down. Brilliant! So I'm goin south now, see everyone soon (or not)
