The first place i stayed in laos was don det, an island right in the south which only had electricity between 6 and 10 at night and where the only accomodation was a hut with a squat toilet attached. First off i have to say that cambodia is home to some of the most impressive sights i've ever laid my eyes on: the temples at Angkor. There are absolutely loads of temples here that are about 1000 years old and are on an unbelievable scale. some are pretty much intact, like the huge intact, like the vast angkor wat, and others are covered in jungle like Beng Mealea, but almost all are impressive. central and south vietnam were both awesome. First i stopped in a town called ninh binh where u can rent a bike and go cycling around the paddy fields where theres not anoter tourist in sight, which was really serene compared to Hanoi. Then it was off to Hue and Hoi An, both are really old towns and Hoi An in particular was a beatiful place, its also a really famous town for making clothes and shoes, you can get a tailored suit for like 20 quid haha there're load...

Hi all I've been in Vietnam for over a week now and I'm having a blast! I've spent afew days in Hanoi, which is the capital of Vietnam, and its even crazier than Bangkok. There are at least 10 motorbikes for every car, no exaggeration, and in the old quarter, there's no pavement, so ur crushed to the wall trying not to get run over by masses of motorbikes.
