We were up bright and early this morning (3am!) walking to the train station before the sun was even up. There will still people partying in the street as we were leaving and when we arrived at the train station it was still closed so we had to wait outside with some sketchy people untill it open about 20mins before our train left. We arrived in Verona at around 8:30 and foun our way to the Euromotel.
Now let me tell you, since I booked the Euromotel I have been getting hassle from the girls about how sketchy it looked on line, and how it was probably going to be so gross with a name like that but let me tell you, it was a hidden gem! It was clean, big and the breakfast was amazing!! we arived there around 9, but were not able to check in untill 11 so we had breakfast (one of the best ones we have had on our trip) checked our emails and were aloud to hang out in the lobby untill our room was ready.
Once it was ready we unloaded our stuff and then headed into Verona. Not having done any reading on it we really only chose to go there because Kaylena saw letters to Juliett and we thought it would be lovely. We decided our safest bet would be to do a bus tour as we were all exhausted and didn't even know what to look for. We hopped on the bus and learned all about the history of the city. Unfortunately Marissa was soo tired she fell asleep for most of the bus tour, one of the more expensive naps she will probably take haha. After the first line of the bus tour we got off and walked to Juliett's house, but it was jammed packed with tourists so we talked to the girl working there and made the decision that we would get up early the next day and go so we could really enjoy it when it wasn't packed. We took then second loop of the tour and it was rather repetitive so we got off anf decided to get some wine before dinner. Now by this point it was raining and Kaylena and I really don't like the rain so we suggested going to a resturant or bar but Karlee thought it would be more "authentic" to drink outside under the trees. So Kaylena and I said if it was going to make he happy we would do it for her. So out we went into the rain with our 4 bottles of 98cent sparking wine, and popsicles (to chill the wine!) and sat under a big tree. After a few bottles of wine it wasn't so bad untill i slid down the hill, got covered in dirt and had ants crawl all over my legs! We finished up our wine and headed over to a resturant close by for dinner.
Fun Fact: William Shakespear stole the play of Romeo and Juliett, it was originally a story about 2 people from verona, but Shakespear made the story famous
