Arrived in Semporna and booked into the Sipidan Hotel ready for my first taste of SCUBA for 7 years...The town itself is not much...pretty big market area with lots of nice friendly faces all smiling and saying 'Helloo...how are you?'. There are quite a few tourists here for the diving, which is supposed to be some of the best in the world, but the locals still look at you as though you are an alien. Not sure if it is just me but there is lots of pointing, staring and giggling (mostly from the young girls)...not sure if this is good or bad, but it is certainly welcoming.

Arranged everything for an early start tomorrow with a dive at a small island called Mabul. Had trouble getting cash from the machines again...this is becoming a pain!!

Headed off to watch the footy in the local bar...poor result against the scousers (of which there were a few fans) then off to bed for an early night in preparation for tomorrow.
