Day 85. Up early and after breakfast we left our van in the NP and drove up to see the ancient giant Tingle tree near Walpole. Beautiful forest road for 6km with giant trees and then a walk for 800m, the 450 year old Tingle tree was enormous with a girth of 24m and we could even walk inside it! Day 84. This morning we drove through spectacular tall forest country from Pemberton through tiny Northcliffe to tiny village of Walpole in the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. Before reaching Walpole around lunchtime we noticed a large burnt out section of forest along the highway from bushfires in March. Day 83. We had some difficulty finding our way out of Busselton but eventually found our way onto the Vasse Highway going southeast. Stopped at quaint timber town of Nannup for morning coffee and then onto Pemberton arriving lunchtime. Drove through a magnificent stand of giant Karri trees in the Beedelup National Park. Checked into the local van park and then straight up to the Holy Smoke Gallery and Cafe for a tasty lunch of potato, bacon and leak soup around ...

Day 82. Slept in and opted for a quiet day for shopping, washing and reading. Walked around downtown Busselton, a very pretty small city. The rain started to pour down mid afternoon but we were snug in our van. Late swim in the heated indoor rock pool at our van park, a very relaxing 28 degrees! Day 81. Up early as we are doing another big day trip down to Margaret River and Cape Leeuwin. Stopped in MR to visit the information centre and for a walk along the main street. Interesting display of all the regional wines with beautiful labels. Next small village of Augusta on the Blackwood River mouth, then onto the old lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin, the tallest on mainland Australia and where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean.
