Day 2. Early start along red dirt roads stopping at Ivanhoe for morning tea and then a long section to old Menindee on the mighty Darling River for lunch. Bourke and Wills stayed here on their ill-fated trip north in the 1860s. The Menindee Lakes teeming with bird life. Lots of wild goats, emus and roos along the track which was in good dry condition but perilous and slippery after rain. Arrived Broken Hill in the Barrier Range mid afternoon, a balmy 22 degrees....
