I can basically sum up the last few days since the London blog entry with 1 word... GUINNESS!!! We arrived Saturday afternoon in Dublin, and took no time in getting into it. An extensive pub crawl was then followed by a visit to Temple Bar, a prominent nightclub district in Dublin. It was a great night, and we met lots of friendly locals who were always keen for a chat.
Sunday was spent recovering from saturday night, and we basically repeated saturday night's formula again on sunday night! Today (monday) we woke up and did the tour of the Guinness Factory and Brewery which was great. We even had a pint of black gold straight from the brewery itself, and I must say, I've never tasted anything better!!! Lunch followed at the brewery before spending up big in the merchandise store (shirts and other various paraphenalia).
After the tour we checked out of the hotel and drove down to Cork, where Im writing from as we speak. The drive wasn't the best. Lots of road works and traffic which slowed us up considerably. We got here eventually and it was worth the wait. Cork is down on the southern coast of Ireland, and is a harbour town. Its not very modern, but there is alot of character to the buildings and architecture. Not too mention the nice harbour and rolling hills which make up the town itself. Really cool place. Haven't seen too much of it yet, but we plan to take the car out tomorrow and check out the surrounding towns. Apparently the Jamiesons Whiskey Distillery isn't too far, so a visit there is definitely on the cards :)
Ireland itself is a great place. Not too disimilar to Australia culturally speaking, but its quite a beautiful place. As I mentioned, we are having a ball here, bu we fly out on Thursday to Bristol and then off to another music festival in the south of the UK. Ryan and Mal spend another few nights in Dublin and head to Paris where I'll meet up with them after farewelling Dom, Chris and Larissa at the music festival.
Can't think off much else to report, having a guinness of a time so far!!!
