Hello! Its been a while since a post. I'm actually currently in Munich but since its been so long and we have done so much, Ive decided to put posts up from Prague, Viennaand Munich separately.
Ok, so we left Berlin on the 26th May and headed to Prague. On the way, the bus made a special stop at a town called Terrazin (check spelling!) in the Czech Republic. This place was quite special, as there was an old fortress there, which the Nazi's used during the 1930s and 1940s as a concentration camp for political prisoners and captured russian soldiers, as well as high ranking and important Jewish people. I won't dwell too much on this place, but it was really interesting and eye opening. To stand in the cells which were so small and to think that 400 to 600 jews were crammed in there was really startling. This camp wasnt an extermination camp as such, though around 800 people died through illness or sentenced to death by Nazi guards. There was also a large jewish memorial there too. Anyway it was quite a sombering experience.
We arrived in Prague in the evening and went on another guided Pub Crawl tour of Prague. However they didnt have enough numbers, so the guides took the three of us out on the town and showed us around anyway. It was a good night, and we repeated the feat the next night and did the pub crawl proper. On our third day there, we went out for lunch and went to one of Pragues famous beer gardens up in the hills over looking Prague. It was really beautiful, and Prague itself is a really beautiful city.
Anyway we then headed to Vienna for the next three days, which will be posted after this blog entry.
