In Bangkok now. Celebrating Chinese New Years in Beijing was mad. Kids seemingly as young as 8 setting off fireworks in the middle of the pavements, was like walking through a minefield. Got to Beijing airport the next day still feeling slightly hazy! Flight was good, managed to maintain my 100% record of getting extra leg room from emergency exits/main doors on this trip.
Had a walking tour with local guide Willie (thats the name he gave his real name was about 12 syllables long so he said Willie would do fine). Really have been taking Bangkok at a pretty chilled pace as I pass through here a couple more times so I will put the leg work in then. I did go to Limphini Park yesterday, if interested people should google Limphini Park Water Monitors! Where we have squirrels in our parks they have 4 foot long lizards related to Komodo Dragons just swimming around and walking on the lawns! It is pretty fantastic not to have to wear thermals anymore, they weren't uncomfortable but they create huge amounts of static and I was fed up of getting electric shocks whenever I touched anything metal!
This evening I take the overnight train to Chiang Mai and then a bus to Chiang Rai before another transfer to The Mirror Foundation where I'm volunteering for the next 3 weeks. Would be a little worried about an overnight train if I hadn't done 4 days in one go across Siberia!
I have tried uploading some photos but having been quoted a time of 5000 minutes I decided to give it a miss, will try again soon!

Jerry I took Sue to Limphini Park, she as very reluctant at first because we had to climb over the Red Shirts bamboo and tyre barricades!!! The Water Monitors were amazing!!
