We have arrived in Australia! We travelled from Singapore to Sydney on the A380 - the world largest passenger plane - and it realy was huge! We were sitting in row 76 and there were still about 15 rows behind us! Quantas do look after you but there were lots of kids on the plane which made the flight very noisy - thank goodness for headphones!
We arrived in Sydney on the Saturday night and once a quick freshen up at the hotel we went to Darling Harbour for some drinks and a bite to eat. This is a really nice area of Sydney and we had a lovely bottle of Sauvingnon Blanc.
As Paul knows Sydney very well I have my own guide to the city so there is no need to look at maps and plan where we are going. Paul knows it all!
The following day (Sunday) we had a leisurely breakfast on the other side of Darling Harbour and then took a walk down to Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We are planning on climbing the Harbour Bridge - it will be my Everest!!
We then took a walk through the Rocks market and we bought a really cute Christmas decoration which has Sydney and 2011 written on it - a little something to remember our time here for Christmases to come. We then took the ferry to Manly and went for a walk on the beach. It is really lovely here and I really enjoyed being here. We had some yummy mexican food for lunch and then done a spot of souvenier shopping.
On our return to Sydney we went to an Irish bar which Paul used to drink at - he spent some time reminising about his younger days!
For dinner we decided to go for a Thai meal which was very yummy but also a bit hot!
We are off to Melbourne tomorrow which I am really looking forward to!
