Apologies for the very late update! We have both been really busy with work and living in Santiago generally.
After living in our new flat for a only a few days, Nick flew out to visit us which was brilliant!
We spent the first day taking him round the sights of Santiago and eating and drinking a lot. We went to a great steak restaurant, which is close to our flat, so we will definitely be going back there again!
The next day we got up early and took the hour and a quarter coach ride to Valparaiso. We had been meaning to visit for ages, but had been so busy. We all loved Valparaiso. We stayed in a beautiful little guesthouse up in Cerro Alegre, one of the hills, and the views were brilliant from up there. The streets are narrow and cobbled and all the cafes, bars and shops are painted in vibrant colours and there is loads of street art everywhere. It is so quiet up there and a million miles away from the part of Santiago that we live.
Once back in Santiago we went to the Conch y Toro wine tour with some of our friends from Santiago and had our flat warming party on roof top of our building. After five days of showing Nick around he left for London and we started working at our new jobs.
We are both enjoying teaching English and can't believe that we are already in our fifth week of work!
As for the travelling, we have been back to the coast a few times in the last few weeks but we are planning a trip to Mendoza next month. More soon!
