Arrived in Washington DC on 30th june at 3pm in the afternoon after a 9 hour flight from Switzerland. We were fortunate to get a spare seat next to us which made the trip very comfortable. We then got a shuttle bus to our hotel which was 1 1/2 hours from the airport. We are staying in a very comfortable hotel and not that far from Washington. We then spent today 1st July going on the hop on and hop off tour around Washington. There is so much history in in Washington and lots to see. i was not so impressed with the White House it was okay but nothing to rave about. The Union Station is really good and when you go inside it has so much inside that you wouldnt think was there. Talitha has downloaded the photos on Facebook and we got quite a few photos. We are working on our tans as the weather here has been fantastic. We both got a little bit red. When we got to the Train Station we rang up to get a taxi as we had missed the shuttle and we had to ring 4 times to try and get the taxi to find where we were. The funny thing was that after 1 hour and being frustrated and hot we found out we were suppposed to be around the other side of the station. It was so funny when we actually found where we were supposed to be standing. Tonight we came home, put skype on and talked to John on the video call which is really cool. We are ready to fly out early tomorrow morning. We have to be up at 4 am in the morning, so tomorrow will be a big day but I am sure will be worthwhile. Well it is 9pm and we are off to sleep as early start.
