Day 147 and we all were up by 930 realising we had to leave and check out by 10. We put all our clothes from the tour in the wash as they were filthy. Once checked out we walked to town as we had several hours to kill before our fligh to Cairns. It was still mega hot. Day 143 and it was yet another early start, this time leaving our hostel at 630 in a taxi for Brisbane Airport. We checked in and boarded our flight for Alice Springs. On the flight we were served breakfast, with Burns eating 3 weetabix's and 2 rolls. As we landed we were told to add half an hour to all our clocks and watches as there was a new time zone. Day 137 and as I woke up I was amazed to see birght sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. This instantly made me feel like getting up, so I finished packing. Once up we met the others outside the kitchen where there were signs up saying it was closed. Apparently the night before a group of lads got really drunk and smashed up the place, even punching holes in the kitchen walls. Hence, we had bread and butter outside on the bench. Day 133 and after the mother of all bus journeys we arrived at Fingerboard Road (a pickup point for 1770) at 930am and got a shuttle to the town itself. The driver insisted on playing heavy dance music as loud as possible which didnt go down to well with a load of tired and grumpy backpackers. Day 129 and it was raining when I woke up, as per normal. This was starting to get really annoying, constant rain though compared to the Bushfires down south, it seemed not that bad. After last nights drinking Luke told us about how he was really hungry at about 5-6am, so went to get a pizza (beer hunger) but it was shut so he waited for a while and then bought 2 pies from the pie shop.
