Day 193 and after our night out last night everyone was lazy in the morning getting up, except Helen who went to town to use the pay phone. By 10am the girls had wandered off to a market in town with Luke in tow, while Burns and I chilled out in the camper. Neither of us are too keen on markets. Day 189 and after a night of constant rain we left the lake area at 7am for fear of being fined and headed for the info centre car park. Burns did the driving while the rest of us were in bed, as he is the only one who seems able to get up when the alarm goes off, not 15 mins later. Day 184 and we were up and freezing cold by 7. Laura didn’t actually get out of bed till about 740, and we were due to be ready at the fishing office by 745. We all had trousers on, apart from Luke who had his 3 quarters on, though both him and I had are 'Jandals' (flip flops). Day 179 and we woke up late, and seemed to just ignore the apparent check out time of 10am thinking the camp site wouldn’t be bothered if we stayed a bit longer. A bit turned into 2 hours as we spent the morning reading, blogging, sorting photos and hanging washing out in the sun to dry. Eventually we left the camp site by 12, 2 hours late. Day 174 and it was a warm start for once as we woke up by the sea. First thing we did was drive to the National Museum of New Zealand called 'Te Papa'.We left the camper in the car park all day and would sleep their briefly before our ferry in the middle of the night.The museum was really good, an Interactive one so there was all sorts of exhibits and things to do and watch.The best bit though was the Colossus Squid on display as it is the only one in the world...
