I last left you on Saturday night, where thanks to ZZZQuil (sister to NiQuil), I slept well for a solid 8 hours. Not bad! On Sunday morning, I went down to my complimentary breakfast, which ended up being in the real restaurant (vs the abbreviated version in the concierge lounge). From a juice bar where I can choose what vegis/fruit goes into the juicer to Indian savory pancakes with chutney to traditional Western food, it had more than I could ever eat.
I decided that with my more than normal breakfast, I needed to hit the gym. So, for the first time since December 29th, I worked out, and most importantly survived! My physical therapist had given me good guidance and workouts so I went for it and my ankle did great!
Even though it was only 1030 when I got back to my room, my body was wanting to go to sleep. Since it was 10pm at home, that was not unusual. Instead of giving in, I went for a walk to a luxury mall about 1/2 mile away. I walked by a very large soccer stadium, hospital, church and community college...quite a diverse setting. The mall had all the big names in high end fashion, think Jimmy Choo, Prada, Yves St Laurent, etc...but still was underwhelming, so headed back to the hotel.
I had scheduled a massage for later in the afternoon, and that was the highlight of the day. It was called the Passage to India and had three elements: Body Scrub with spice scented sugar, massage and the highlight of warm oil poured on my forehead while the therapist massaged it into my scalp. Very relaxing and what a nice way to have the kinks worked out from the long flight. Great way to wind down the day!
It is now Monday, and our first day in the office. Our driver for the 3 weeks picked my colleague and I up and we spent the next hour in the controlled chaos that is Bangalore traffic. 2 lanes are used as 4 (lines? what lines???), along with tuk-tuks, motor bikes and bicycles...it is truly crazy. I arrived to find 11 bright shiny faces ready for training and we had an excellent day.
Next update will be when I head to Mysore for the weekend. Have a great week everyone!
