Arrive in Koh Samui yesterday at around 11am after sitting on a bus & ferry for around 16 hours! Probably one of the longest trips of my life! We left Bangkok on a coach & stopped at some dodgy Thai restaurant at Midnight where you had to pay 5 bahts to use the toilet! It was one of those hole in the ground type loos with a bucket of water & plastic saucepan to flush away what you had done! Got to Surathani at 6am & had to wait an hour & half for different coach to Ferry port. Pete & I were both suffering a bit from the previous nights meal in Bangkok that made our tummy's not too well! Hence sitting on a coach for this long is not too good! Koh Samui is very touristy. We stayed in a small bungalow type room last night which was clean, but poky. We moved to a slightly more expensive place for next two nights, but is right on beach front. We are on Chaweng side of Island which is most busy. Rained a monsoon today so couldn't be lazy on the beach, instead got absolutely drenched on the bottom & stayed dry on top with our cool waterproof jackets! Sat in a bar for a while & did a lot of people watching. Want to take a boat trip out tomorrow or next day. Pete keeps getting stopped by men wanting to make him shirts & suits. Last night one asked him if he wanted to make me a dress to look beautiful in. So Pete turned and asked him if I was not beautiful already! Guy didn't know what to say back! It was very funny indead!
