25th march
Tonight we had our first sight of the Ganges. Arrived at sunset what a sight that was.We took a boat down the river to watch the religious rituals. It was very moving we all put a little flower and candel offering in the water. The hotel we stopped at was one of the best so far. They had a good bar where a small amount of beer wa drank.

26th march
Back to the Ganges for our dawn boat ride. Pilgrims take their sin cleansing dip in the holy river. Some just pouring water over them, others right in the river.They also come here to be cremated then their ashes are put in the river. The whole place is awash with colour.On our way down the river we pass women doing the washing. It really is an amazing experience and one I will never forget.
