Well have now arrived in Laos! After an 11 hour sleeper train journey, 30 minute train journey and half hour taxi ride I am in Vientiane.

Sleeper train was fun as had cabin to myself (first class i was riding haha apparently 2nd class is better however for meeting people)But managed some sleep as train rocked back and forth haha.

When got up this morning and arrived at Nong Khai met some other tourists who were also traveling to Laos so we all went together would you believe one was Scottish couple and another 2 girls for England so we all went to center together and are now all at one guesthouse!

Arrived in Vientiene around lunch time and found guesthouse I had look at so after checking in and showering went and got some lunch with Louise and Catherine! Had a BLT sandwich with chips was amazing!! The we wandered around the city. Venentiene is the capital of Laos but is like no capital city i have ever known it is almost devoid of people and transport but has many quaint bars, cafes and restaurants to wander around the side streets and just people watch!! Am lovingit here as its exactly what I need after the busyness of Thailand!

Tonight we started off relaxing on rooftop terrace before heading out for some food and a drink made our way to riverside then back up side streets was lovely and a lot more people about than earlier on in the day! Riverside isnt quite what you would expect as is really dirty and smoggy but bar was nice enough to have a drink in.

Planning tomorrow to go and visit Buddha Park (main tourist spot here) as I wait for my Vietnam visa takes around 2/3 days and then will head off there but am certainly going to enjoy wandering around Vientiane
