It's been a bit of a whirlwind tour of Portugal as we've had to keep pushing north to get back to Bilbao for our return ferry home at the end of November. Site seeing fatigue has started to set in and we're both a bit blasé about medieval towns, cathedrals and plazas. So here is a quick summary:
Evora: another medieval town.
Lisbon: a bit run down but to its credit some nice plazas and decent architecture. Not too sure about allowing homeless people to run the car parks on Sundays though.
Sintra: I'm sure if you had the time, money and inclination visiting all those palaces and stately homes would be great. For us, another medieval town.
Nazare: top marks. Fab fishing town with great market, amazing surf and top class custard tarts.
Porto: a bit run down but it does have a very cool tram system though.
Estarreja: you've never heard of it and there's a good reason for that. We did get free electric hook up and wifi so we can't complain ;-)
So it's back to Spain as the journey north towards Blighty continues.
