Twelve days to go!!! That's my count down. The kids count down is "seven more days of school!" We are all anxious.
We leave for our big journey in just twelve days, and I am trying not to panic. I have the first three weeks planned so far, but not the rest. I still have tons of of things to buy for the trip, bills to pay, stuff to get organized, etc.
Yet here I am typing my first ever blog entry! You can all thank Lee and Theresa for that. They convinced me that I need to keep a record of all of this. The nice thing about this site is that it will update my Facebook as I update the blog, and at the end of it I can order a hardback book of everything! That is, assuming that it works well. We'll give it a shot.
I am going to put our itinerary on here, so you can see where we're going and where we've been.
I also have uploaded photos (not actuals) of our new "home away from home," a 2008 Jayco 1007! We bought it on Sunday and take delivery of it on Memorial Day. Gives me about a week to get it loaded up and on the road. It sleeps 7-8, has air conditioning, and a portable heater. A little sink, three burner stove and an awning. Weighs ~1800lbs and is 14 ft. long when closed. I will be driving my new 2010 Honda Odyssey, which has been outfitted with a heavy duty trailer hitch, ATF & PS Coolers, and brake control. I think we're safe. I have Honda's roadside assistance, AAA roadside assistance, and may get Good Sam's roadside assistance. Wonder if any of them come out to the middle of nowhere?
Okay, I'm off to work on the itinerary upload and then paperwork. Stay tuned for more!
