Mary and Paul left us in Cyprus and flew back to England. David stayed with William and I and sailed to Kastellorizo, the eastern most of the Greek Islands. It is a beautiful little island just off the coast of Turkey and we moored against a jetty on which were tables and chairs belonging to a restaurant. The edge of the harbour is lined with restaurants and cafes and the town itself rise steeply from here. Narrow alleyways separate the pretty pastel coloured houses with their wooden shutters and balconies. There is a castle and a museum to visit.
Behind the town a very steep path with 402 steps goes up the hillside and affords a spectacular panorama of the surrounding town and bay. William and I walked up slowly. At the top we walked across limestone, interspersed with wild thyme to the ruins of the monastery of Saint George.

Richard Mother! you must control your step counting obsession! Good to see your taking note of the geology though. Maybe you can do some paintings of this place?
