We took the ferry to Santa Cruz, a two hour crossing, landing at Admiralty bay. The town of Puerto Ayora is not as nice as Puerto Baquerizo on San Cristobel where we are anchored. We are very glad that we chose San Cristobel. Puerto Ayora is busy, very touristy and more expensive. We took a boat trip to Punta Pitt at the north east tip of San Cristobal. We saw all types of boobies, for which the Galapagos is famous, Nazca boobies, red footed boobies as well as blue footed boobies. We went snorkeling round the rocks at a small island off Punta Pitt. Wreck Bay, San Cristobal, Galapagos. We arrived at The Galapagos at dawn on Monday 2nd March and sailed down the coast of Isla San Cristobal. We arrived at the Panama Canal Yacht Club on Saturday morning. The yacht club is in Colon in the middle of an industrial area surrounded by containers. It is rather run down but friendly and the restaurant serves good, inexpensive food. There was a colony of feral cats living behind the restaurant, cleaver cats. We left Panama at 11.30am on Thursday 18th for the San Blas islands. It was not a very pleasant journey, beating into twenty plus knots of wind and a big lumpy sea, with waves rolling over the fore deck and occasionally over the spray hood giving anyone in the cockpit a shower.
