Pic of the day Uluru is in sight.
Well last night got down to 3 degrees according to the app on my phone. Glad there was a heater to keep us warm and we just had a duvet each lol.
Went back to mighty campers and sorted out the little bond issue then had breakfast at McDonald's. Grocery shopping was next, which we managed to get through without too many extras. We loaded up the shopping cart and went to take it to the campervan - which was parked in the street and a locking device got activated on the trolley meaning it wouldn't go past the car park! So we brought the campervan to the trolley...
When loading up the campervan some aboriginal ladies stopped by and they were selling some really cool paintings. Neither of us had cash though, however they told us where they would be so we thought we would find an atm machine and hunt them down. They were harder to find than one might think! By the time we got there the painting that we wanted had literally just sold before our eyes, Josiah then grabbed a very similar one. I was debating over another bigger one when someone bought that. Guess that wasn't meant to be. We grabbed some ice creams and off back to the camper we went.
Next stop was the truck museum. Lots of old vehicles along with some brand new ones. Huge kenworth trucks. Was quite cool really.
Once we were done there we headed for Uluru. 470km of long mostly straight roads. We passed two trucks with huge wide 2 lane trailers. Took a bit of doing but we got there. Speed limit is 130km, but being in a camper we were only allowed to do 110km.
Stopped at a roadhouse where they were farmed emus. Brought a very healthy ice block - Apple/pear/spinach and something else. Was quite good really. Reached Uluru about 5:30. No camping within the national park. So we went back to the Yularu Resort / come caravan park. There are no powered sites so we are going to get cold tonight. We both have sleeping bags along with duvets so we should be fine - famous last words im sure lol.
Josiah cooked Kangaroo steak with mash potatoes for dinner. Yummo it was good. I like kangaroo as it turns out.
Currently 7:30 and off to bed like old men lol
