Well what a day, after what seemed like an eternity waiting in the stuffy, smoky hotel reception with Dr Evil (his laugh mainly) and his pals the bus finally arrived at 11:25pm. It was a shuttle bus that was crammed full so much so that Andrews seat was broken, it had no back. When arriving at the bus station all of our worse cases scenarios came true haha. No toilet on the bus for starters and a maxed out full to bursting bus with tiny metal bunks, probably about 5" in length okay for you average lengthers haha not so much for a 5"11 female and 6"2 man but despite all that and taking into account the tea towel sized bed sheet and tiny pillow we managed to get a couple of broken hours of sleep, that was until 6:45 when the driver was banging and yelling at everyone to get up and out. We had to get out change for a new coach from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville. Another half an hour of waiting the other coach arrived on possibly the most manic road we've seen yet, with the actual man sizes holes in the road for miles out of the capital city. The bus as expected stopped at many stops along the way to fill the bus to maximum capacity, including small plastic stools down the coach aisle for the remaining passengers. Safety at its best haha. Not to mention the Cambodian rave music played loudly once the driver got off the bus for some food. After arriving in Sihanoukville 12 and a half hours later, we have never been so excited to see the sea! After a quick taxi ride to Otres 2 we were greeted by a lovely lady, Mia at the Otres Marina hotel showed to our lovely little room with an ensuite that had an open roof, amazing and then she came back with beers and cold glasses! Even more Amazing. We spent the remainder of the day down by the beach on swingy chairs, basket chairs, drinking cocktails playing pool and swimming in the incredibly warm sea! Bliss. On the way back to the hotel three puppies came greet us, to which Andrew heads out later to try and find is favourite (unsuccessful) so he comes back to bed puppyless! Thank god as they all probably have fleas!

Our stay in Sihanoukville has consisted of three nights at the Otres Marina (sing it Andrew) with lovely staff, a full room service everyday and a choice of cereal and fruit or a full English for breakfast everyday too.
We've had beach massages (not a proper massage more of a oily rub down whilst she rang her mates on the phone haha, but then we did only pay a few dollars for it) a foot scrub and leg massage, cocktails a plenty; mango Malibu shakes and whiskey sours making the top of the extensive list of those consumed, and lots of local Khmer food, fresh seafood and an all round very relaxing pleasant couple of days.
We had many recommendations to visit Koh Rong Island, however we were so happy where we were and as we've had constant rain every day from 9pm till approx 10am we decided to just stay put. We now have a mini van booked to take us over to Kep in the morning, pick up at 11:20am, 2 1/2 journey $9usd each.
