Today we went for a walk to Karon Beach. It has some of the most beautiful sand. It's almost as fine as cornstarch and makes the same squelching sound as wet cornstarch, even when you're walking in the dry sand. The water was pretty, but a little on the rough side. On the way back, we stopped in a market and found the vendors to be very unpleasant, so we left. After all that walking we decided we needed a foot massage. This morning we hung out at the pool again. Not too much happening in the morning. We had ice cream for lunch. I feel certain that if I owned one of those carts for making the hand made ice cream, that I could make a cash killing with it. Jody disagrees, certain that I would eat all the profits. Today was spent mostly by the pool. We went for a walk at lunchtime. We had some handmade ice cream and some barbecued ribs, while Jody had barbecued chicken. Delicious! Had a quick browse through a few of the walking street tents and then back to the pool. It was already 30 degrees by 10 am! we had pizza for dinner and then checked out a couple of markets and shops.

Today is a transit day. The van picks us up at 11:30 for the drive to Phuket. We will drop Clement and Bonnie off first at the airport and then on to Kata beach where we will stay for the next 5 days. That was a twisty, windy, 2 1/2 hour ride here. Hopefully on the way back to the airport they can use a different route that avoids the center of town. We hung out on the beach this morning. I did a little exercise. We had to return the car today, so we drove into town to have some street food for lunch. Clement took us on a little road trip to show us this beautiful stretch of beach that's undeveloped. He saw it yesterday from the boat when they went on their snorkelling trip.
