Our Global Gallivants
We met Clement and Bonnie for breakfast this morning. We went for a walk afterwards to the little shops by the resort because Bonnie needed to buy a hat. Clement decided that we should rent a car. None of us have an international drivers license. Clement didn't even bring his license, but insists that it's not necessary. He takes a taxi into the town of Khao Lak to rent a car. The guy asks if he has a license and he tells him that he forgot it. He said ok, and hands over the keys to his personal vehicle, because the SUV he's going to rent us is being used. Clement picked us up and we all went into town for lunch. We wandered through a market area that was next to the restaurant.
Someone who looked they were from administration of the hotel approached Jody at the pool and thanked her for helping the little girl. She asked if she actually drown and Jody explained what she needed to do. We asked if she was ok and they said because of the language barrier they will have to talk to the tour guide. They were on a tour from Shanghai and checked out this morning. She is going to call the tour guide. We told her about their staff video taping the little girl and how displeased we were about that. She said it's not good for the hotel, either. They will deal with it. When we returned from town, we inquired at the front desk and they said they were told that she's ok.
We went for a swim at the pool today. They were setting up for a wedding on the beach. It started at 5 pm and they had the little gazebo for the night, dinner for 2 on the beach. There were no invited guests at the wedding, just the bride and groom, but plenty of onlookers on the beach. I am sure there were plenty of beautiful photos taken. Jody said, what are we going to do tomorrow, deliver a baby? If so, I think we should go home early.
we went to the resort next door and had dinner beachside.
