Today we started with a visit to Heritage Park and the National Anzac Centre on Mount Adelaide. It was very interesting to learn about the leaving of Australia in 1914 by Australian and New Zealand forces heading for Gallipoli and Palestine. Jerramungup is only 181km from Albany so we only had a short drive to our destination today. It was a nice drive. We stopped at a place called Wellstead for a short break. The town consisted of a roadhouse and school and a few houses. The roads repair teams love their witches hats here. They are used to mark wherever it is not safe to move off the tarmac. Often it was where water runoff had undermined the soil. South coast highway was a true country road...

So we started the day with a drive around the Ocean view drive in Esperance. Saw some beautiful beaches and a large lake. The best thing for me was being able to stand underneath a wind turbine as the blades were going around. I now understand why people don't want to live near them they are loud. Today we got up later than normal as we had nowhere to go before 9.30 when the tourist centre opened to get our month long national park pass. $44 well spent. We then headed to the Stonehenge Replica. It was a wonderful experience. Very beautiful and serene. We were both looking forward to today as it was new road for us both. We have turned right at Norseman previously today we got to turn left. Firstly we travelled 180km from Balladonia to Norseman. The highlight for me was the changing colours on the trunks of the trees. Also the changing colour of the soil. It became a reddy orange in spots.
