THe rain didn't last long and we headed out of Karratha to Cossack, Samson point and Wickham. They are all small towns. Cossack is actually just a few old buildings left over from the original port town in the estuary. So today we have visited Deep gorge and looked at some Aboriginal rock art. The pictures have been scrapped into the rocks. It was a nice stroll over loose rocks to look at the few we found. We then headed to Dampier the home of the movie Red Dog. Had lunch then went down to the water front. It was amazing to see how the rocks travel right down into the sea at points. Again it was unique and interesting. Found it interesting seeing Corellas on the beach...

So yesterday was my birthday and we decided to have an easy day. Catch up on washing and do some shopping. It was a ublic holiday in Karratha but not sure why. So today we headed along the RIo Tinto access road to get to Karratha. Our intention was to go as far as Millstream national park and stay there for 2 nights. While we were on the private access road we probabl would've gone with this ntention. So we headed out to Karijini National Park. We were looking forward to seeing these Gorges after all the shows we had watched on the Pilbara over the years. The gorges were not disappointing. It was quite warm up on the top but when we walked down into the Weano gorge it was lovely and cool.
