Although we had already passed through this town on our way to Punta Arenas, it was now time to return and spend 4 days here. A small and quaint village on the banks of the Ultima Esperanza Sine (Last Hope sound) yet another great place to relax, play some Uno and eat and drink. Famous as the Gateway to the Torres Del Paine national park (a hikers dream) the local population seemed incredulous that we would come here and not visit the world renound park. But anyway we stood firm and just chilled out for the days prior to our much anticipated ferry cruise.
Not much else happened other than we bumped into some friends that we had spent some time with in Rio randomly in the supermarket. We went with them to watch the local football team play and then went out for a few drinks that night.
Finally the day came for us to board the Navimag boat which had already been docked in the harbour for a day or so. We boarded the boat at 9pm that night and spent the evening docked in the harbour ready for an early setoff at 5am the following morning.
