Well today is the day. After months and months of planning we are finally ready to go.
The kids work up early so we were ready to leave home by 10am. The kids have been crazy excited so it's good to finally be going. First stop was town - Angie needed a hair cut and I needed a new SD card.
We had planned to have a picnic lunch in the mountains but it was cold and windy so it was a quick stop in Lithgow and then they the mountains to Sydney.
Crossed the mountains and we had plenty of time so we decided to head to Marouba Beach. The kids loved walking along the beach and exploring the rock pools on the northern end of the beach. After lots of exploring we scrambled up the head land and enjoyed the view. Thanks to Jacob's keen eyes we were spoilt with seeing whales splashing in the distance!
Next stop was our motel. We decided to stay at the Rydges at the International Airport. Although more expensive - it was very convenient considering our early departure time the following day. The room was awesome - we had airside views so it was amazing to watch the planes land/depart and all the other behind the scenes happens of an airport.
We decided to do a quick reccy of the airport, grabbed a bite to eat and then settled in for the night.
