Day 134
Eldoret- Nivasha (Camp Cornelly's)
Km
BRUCE: The road for Eldoret to Nakuru was not as bad as I remembered it, maybe after the good roads in Uganda I'm more relaxed about using the odd bad one! It was Sunday but I thought I would try my luck anyway and see if Gilani's Butchery, in Nakuru, was open. I've heard great things about it but unfortunately it was closed. The road from Nakuru to Nivasha is brand new and was a welcome relief after the Eldoret stretch. Camp Cornelly's is great, set on the banks of the lake in a forest of massive fever trees. Se and I are both feeling a bit down after leaving Uganda but even then I find this place stunning. We had a nice braai to lift our spirits and tomorrow we'll try to get our admin done in Nairobi so that we can leave for Tanzania the next day.

Day 135
Nivasha - Nairobi (Jungle Junction)
Km
SARAH: Can you believe we're back in Nairobi for the 3rd time! We really didn't want to get caught up here for too long as money vanishes in Nairobi. So we headed straight to the YaYa centre to email and update our blog. It was then back to the Naukumatt for a luxury supplies shop of boerie, wine, beer etc and we had spent £50 before we knew it! JJ's was buzzing with 7 overlander vehicles there and it was great to chat to the travellers and tell them where we'd been in Uganda. It was also reassuring to talk to some guys from SA who's Land Cruisers got big problems and needs repairing. Everyone with major car trouble has had a Land Cruiser so my confidence in Land Rovers is growing (touch wood). We made volcanoes for dinner (mashed potato and spicy mince). It's the first time we've had mash and was a real treat. We also collected our jerry cans that we'd left at JJ as we're going to need them to fill up before entering Tanzania where diesel is 50 US cents more!
