7am - New York City Day 7- 10?
Day 1
Breakfast was eaten at the hotel buffet restaurant. There was a plethora of options to choose, ranging from waffles to eggs. After breakfast the group prepared themselves for a 4.5 hour coach to the big apple New York City. On the way to New York City a service station stop was made where students ordered snacks, lollies and hot chips to reenergise and to keep awake.
Arrival in Ney York was at roughly midday. On arrival lunch was eaten at a McDonald's restaurant. One of the biggest obstacles in New York that was detected earlier on was the access to toilets! So students were encouraged to always use the toilets when they were available.
After McDonalds the group had a booked guided tour known as "The Ghostlight tour: the haunted Broadway." With visits across several theatres some spooky stories were shared regarding ghosts that occupied some of those theatres.
Following this the group had some time to stroll around New York and to make bargain purchases leading up to a delightful dinner and show at the famous 190's Ellen's Stardust Diner.
Day 2
Another big day in the big city. First thing was using the subway and public buses to make their way to the 9/11 museum memorial. This was a very intense experience that included an approximately 1 hur tour of the museum detailing several facts about the horrific date. Following this lunch was eaten and the hop on hop off tour was used to visit through Brooklyn New York. Several destinations that were visited on this leg of the trip included the Brooklyn Bridge, views for the George Washington and Manhatten Bridge. The Staten Island Ferry was then used to take photos and ride past the famous Statue of Liberty. Following this a hop on/hop off bus was then used to visit the Empire State building which provided a magnificent view on the concrete jungle known as New York.
Day 3
A sunnier day opposed to the rainy and windy day before day 3 was a good start to the group last day in New York. Starting of with a stroll of Central Park, some student got the opportunity to enjoy the carousel while others enjoyed the calm of the park by relaxing b he grass. Following this there were some markets on 6th avenue where some students bought some hot chocolate or other warm drinks and some souvenirs. The day then carried on to a visit to MOMA - Museum of Modern Art. One of the more intriguing museums of the tour. Another extensive hop on hop off experience through the Westside of New York and quick stop through Harlem was had. After this the group made their way to Times Square where the first time the group was divided into two. Some students continued to do some more shopping whilst others got the opportunity to watch their first musical show on Broadway! What a way to exit New York!
