Today was our second day of mammoth driving to get us to Cairns with time to enjoy it once we are there! We set off from Rockhampton early and after a quick stop at Woolworths to pick up breakfast we were on the road by 9! I have to say the roads are getting more how I expected them to look like, I think the moral here is too much tv! The weather was better for us today, so we didnt stop for the night where we first planned to in Mackay but decided to head for Townsville.

9 hours driving, 700kms and lots of MacCafe stops we got to Townsville, it was very easy to find a hostel and we got a room in the first one we stopped at. I got majorly excited about having an ensuite, such a luxury! Townsville was actually a nicer place than I expected, would have like to spend a day here to have a look around at the harbour.
