You become good friends with the "i-site" centres whilst travelling New Zealand so I thought it was apt to use the logo as the blog photograph! They are generally the first place you are dropped at when arriving by bus, you can find anything from where to sleep to where to be thrown out of an aeroplane in there and seeing the logo means seeing a safe place where there is staff to sort out your weird and wonderful plans!
We arrived in Motueka yesterday just an hours drive from Nelson and one of the gateways to the Abel Tasman National Park, the smallest but busiest in New Zealand.
With no car and having a late start today we felt a little frustrated that we werent able to get anywhere which left us heading for the i-site centre to sort out a jam packed day for tomorrow. With hundreds of brochures in hand and the opinion of the lady in there we went out to mull it over on the bench in the sun! We came to conclusion we needed to make the most out of the one day we had so we took the option of both kayaking and walking with one of the big companies. Not something we always do and generally we dont like guided tours but the hike we would do on our own in the afternoon. So our purse a lot emptier and our trip all booked up we chilled ready for the early start tomorrow.
Our trip seems to take the shape of either having a really full day or having a day doing absolutely nothing! We dont do half measures of either!
