Ol n' Ben around the world
Contrary to what was expected, skies were still grey today.
We went to the market to buy tropical fruits (pineapples, passion fruits) and umibudo (seaweeds from okinawa, which look like small green grapes, maybe the longevity secret of people from okinawa !)
Then we went back to the tourism office to see if renting a car was possible. Indeed, sun was expected at the end of the day and it is definitely more convenient to have a car on the island. But unfortunately, we could not find any english speaker there this time.
We then had lunch at Eifuku Shokudo, which is a restaurant highly recommended by LP guide. You can eat cheap soba noodles, especially yagi soba, with goat meat. The place was easy to find since the owner put photocopies of LP guide critics on the window (both french and english versions) !
We then made our way back to the hotel to see if they had available rental cars, and they did ! We thus rent a yellow plate car (small engine - Honda Life) at 4 pm. Indeed it is difficult to see interesting places in the island without a car and there are only few buses and they do not go everywhere.
We decided to go back to Yonehara beach, to snorkel and try to make underwater pictures.
We parked at yonehara campground again. The tide was high (max at 6pm). We saw many beautiful and colorful fishes again, but even if the sky was less grey than the first time, there was definitely not enough sun light to enjoy the scenery and make outstanding underwater pics.
After more than an hour of snorkeling, we swam back to the beach, where we could enjoy sunset, and then drove back to the hotel after a Mos Burger stop ;-)
