Arrived in Auckland via free bus transfer from the aiport around 6-7 last night. After doing a bit of wandering (getting lost trying to find my accomadation) I stopped off for a quick pint to get my bearings (more excuses, I just fancied a well earned boozer). The guy in the bar pointed me in the right direction and I ended up at the apartment block around 8:30pm. Place was alright, main thing was it had a bed to finally get my head down.
Woke up fairly early, found an internet cafe to help find next nights hotel. So far Ive spent the day walking down the main road here (Queen St) and along the harbour. The pic I took is funnily enough of one of the tourist-y docks. The clouds in the photo make it look over-cast here, and it kinda is. Still very warm, especially when your carrying what feels like a ten ton bag on your back. Cant wait to get the 'Shooters Saloon' to finally put it down for awhile.
Plan on taking a bus ride to the Hockey match between NZ and Korea. Should be good fun, helping pass the time until I finally can meet up with Hannah!
Final thought: Ive been wondering since last night why New Zealand doesn't have any famous sprinters... with the time the traffic lights give you to cross the road here I think they may be missing a trick.
