I woke up around 5:30 on Monday morning to catch the bus to Byron Bay. Two of the girls I stayed with also woke up to take me to the bus stop and see off. They had class and had already been to Byron Bay so I went by myself. The very first thing I did was I went SKYDIVING. It was one of the most amazing activities I have ever done! The whole process was very quick; right when I arrived they put me on the very next plane. I went tandem and on the way up my partner was texting and playing games on his phone but he does that about 15 times a day so I guess it just wasn't as exciting (he has gone over 14,000 times). We all boarded the plane we started down the runway; the door to the plane was not closed until about a second before we lifted off. After what seemed like a very long flight (realistically it was probably only about 12 minutes) the door opened, the group in front of me jumped then I realized it was my turn! I will post pictures but just to explain, I wrote "No Regrets" on my hands for the picture but I made the mistake of writing no on one hand and regrets on the other - I was going to but my hands together for the pictures but the way most of them turned out is that you can only see no or regrets but not together haha.

After skydiving one of the workers drove me about 15 minutes into the town. The best way I could describe the town is very groovy/hippie. When I first arrived I bought breakfast. Then I decided to start my journey to the lighthouse. The walk was beautiful along the water, but again it was very steep with a lot of stairs. On the way I passed Clarkes beach so of course I took a picture with the sign. I passed a point that was the most easterly part of Australia's mainland then I arrived at the lighthouse. I thought I would walk inside to see the museum, on my way in one of the volunteers asked if I wanted to take the tour - he said he would just let me in without having to buy a ticket so of course I said yes. We stopped at the different levels along the way; the lighthouse is one of the brightest in the world. When we reached the top the view was beautiful and there was the biggest rainbow I have ever seen in my life, the volunteer said he had never seen a rainbow up there - it was amazing. I then headed back on the hour-long walk back to the town. I spent the rest of the day exploring the town. At 5:00 that night I took the greyhound back to Surfers Paradise where all of my friends were waiting at the bus stop to go out to dinner for my last night. After dinner some went back to the hotel and the rest of us went to get ice cream and go to the famous "Surfers Paradise" sign - they wanted me to see the sign before I left.
