Last night was not great, we seem to have gained two very good snorers in the dorm.
I spent most the night with a pillow over my head and headphones in my ears!
Tired of trying to sleep I got up and out of bed at 6am. Fifa and tea kept me occupied until the breakfast area was opened at half 8. Siobh surfaced at 9 and we had a lazy start to the day.
With no rush we ate toast and tea, packed our bags, and prepared to move out of Singapore.
Once ready we hopped on a bus for the boarder town of JB (the Malaysian side).
We were in and our of immigration and needed to find the best/cheapest transport to Kuala Lumpur, or KL as it's referred to by the locals.
We had time to kill and we were starving! We grabbed KFC at the very modern immigration centre before making our onward journey 4 hours on a bus to KL.
It was dark and wet when we arrived. We were dumped at KL central station where we needed to get the metro into the city centre.
We headed for Chinatown and once there began the hunt for a place to stay and food.
The rainforest hotel fitted the bill. A splurge for us, but it's our last week and after the hotels/dives that we had looked at between here and the metro line we didn't care.
Private room, bathroom, aircon, cable TV, and wifi, all in a clean modern hotel room!
We dumped our bags and headed for food. We ate fried noodles, crispy duck, and rice. It was over priced but very tasty.
First impressions of KL in the dark have not been great. Hopefully tomorrow morning will bring sunshine and show KL off in its glory.
