After a 2 hour flight followed by a 3 hour boat trip down to our eco lodge we were taken for a night walk around a trail close to the lodge. After encountering many jumping spiders, moths and mosquitoes we were left still wanting to see more.
Another early morning started with a quick boat ride and then the start of a trek. We were alot luckier this time and saw tarantulas, monkeys and hawks. This left us feeling alot happier and we spent the afternoon walking around a farm that supplies the lodge with all it's food tasting different fruits. We learnt a few random facts, such as the yuca jungle potato is the favourite food of agoutis and in Perú they eat the fruit of the cashew tree but throw away the nuts!
The evening was spent floating down the river in search of Cayman (similar to crocodiles). With there eyes reflecting the torch they weren't to hard to spot - the longest we saw at around a meter and a half.
The final day was spent on the boat again re-tracing our steps back to catch a flight to Cusco.
