Not wrote an entry for a while so need to let you all catch up with where we're up to and where we've been.
10th October we travelled by Greyhound to Reading in Pennyslvannia where some of Ant's family live. We're were met at the Bus Station by his family and we stayed with them for 4 days. It was a nice time to relax, we went on Ken's boat out onto the lake near their house. We caught a fish - to me it seemed a big one but Ken said they're normally a lot bigger. The place they live in is beautiful, proper Wysteria Lane type of suburb. We went for food at a nice restaurant and we went shopping at Walmart for a few more clothes we needed.
14th October - we travelled to New York City by Greyhound and checked into our hotel at about 5pm. The hostel was ok. Clean and very big, we also had our own bathroom in the dormitory room. We went for a walk around Central Park on our first night, it is really nice. Loads of people jogging, cycling and roller blading. Then in the evening we went to see Times Square and went in Madame Tussauds. This was so good, we've got loads of photo's. Times Square is amazing. Really busy and mad but such a good atmosphere.
Second day in New York we went to the site where the Twin Towers were and saw the memorial sites they have their. It was pretty emotional seeing this as there we're lots of pictures and messages from people. We then walked around the harbour and took a boat trip out onto the Hudson River that took us past the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of LIbery and Ellis Island. This boat trip was really good. Statue of Liberty isn't as big as i always thought it was though. We got some great views from the boat trip of Manhatten Island. That night we went to Times Square again and watched Chicago on Broadway. This was amazing - it was definately worth the money.
The last day we had here we went to see the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden and walked down Fifth Avenue which is where a lot of the expensive shops are. The view from the top of the Empire State Building was great you can see for miles. Stayed around nr the hostel this evening as we needed and early night to be up in the morning for out 8 hour Greyhound to Buffalo
17th October - Took ouir 8 hour bus journey from N.Y city to Buffalo. We checked into our hostel, great hostel, best yet. We had a 12 bed dorm room all to ourselves last night it was good.
18th October - Went to see Niagara Falls today, which is about 45 mins from Buffalo. Niagara Falls is definately breathtaking. We went on the Maid of the Mist boat trip and got wet through. We then went on a walk tour that takes you down some steps to the foot of the American Falls (there are two different waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls, the American and the Horseshoe), this walk got us even wetter but was definately worth it.
Well thats where we're up to at the moment, we're just going out for Dinner and going to the cinema. We'll try to update more often. Fly to L.A on Friday 20th to start our Trek America trip.
Love Nic & Ant. xx
