Hi All
Well everything is going great. We have signed a lease on a flat in East Perth for the next 6 months. It's a lovely little place right on a park called Langley Park, by the Swan River, very close to the City Centre but far enough out to be nice and quiet.
Ant has left the job he was at, it just wasn't him! He's doing agency work at the moment, currently he's working in a hospital just doing general maintenance. I have got a job for the next 2 months in an office full of us Brits. It's a company who arrnage for British Expats to transfer the British Pensions over to the Aussie equivalent (well much much better than the British one!)
Again, we've not really done to much exploring just yet as we're trying to save money. We went to a local horse trotting ground on Friday and watched the races there. Then on Sunday we went on the train to the seaside town of Fremantle. It was nice to see the ocean again, and it was beautiful, very blue and clear, just idealic.
Australia is getting ready for their Australia Day on the Friday 26th, the prepartions make me think it is going to be amazing. Most of the roads round near our flat and in the city centre are closed and there is a big festival on the park in front of our flat. At the moment they are painting the national flag onto the grass, on a very very large scale. We have had a leaflet through the letter box telling us that Langley Park is going to be the Youth Zone, sponsored by Coca Cola and for 16 - 35 year olds, with live bands and activities, then at 9pm they have a massive firework and pyrotechnic show happening above the city skyline. So we can't wait, really looking forward to it!
Better get back to work.
Love Nic & Ant xx
