Yesterday, I went ahead and threw myself off a wobbling cable car, 134 meters up in the air. The experience was amazing, like no other. If anyone reading this comes to New Zealand it is a must do. You get time to actually enjoy the fall rather than just s***ting yourself immediately after you gather the courage to jump. The freefall at "Nevis Highwire Bungy" lasts just over 8 seconds and is the highest operational Bungy site in the World.
And yes, I got the T-Shirt.
Unfortunately the other booked activities such as Sky-Diving and Hang-Gliding have fallen through. The weather has either been too windy or wet and some times, much like England, both at the same time. They say you can have all four seasons in one day here in Queenstown and that's exactly what's been happening.
So I can't have a go at Hang-Gliding. I suppose it can be done else where in the world however the scenery is unlikely to be as spectacular as it is in New Zealand.
I also missed my second fix of Sky-Diving. The dive in Lake Taupo comes top of my list for awesome activities. At 15,000 feet, the experience lasts much longer than a bungy jump and the adrenaline keeps on flowing.
So now, despite not being able to do a few activities, I feel like a FreeBird.
I'll update soon but nothing will top Queenstown in New Zealand.
