Thursday 16 June - beautiful sunny day for a cycle ride around Acadia National Park, which is handy as that's what we've booked... The coach roads around the park are wonderfully made and traffic free but quite hard work to cycle. Somehow we managed about 32 miles and at the moment can still (just) walk.
Dinner in a 'fine dining' restaurant Maine style - a five sided glass fronted room high on a hillside overlooking Bar Harbor bay. Lazy man's lobster meant they did all the work of getting the meat out of the shell, but still didn't trust me to eat it without the indignity of a plastic bib (just in case) - clearly my reputation precedes me...
Phrase of the day from last night's Boston Bruins' Stanley Cup final ice hockey match, uttered in response to a partisan commentator trying to decide whether a Toronto shot crossed the goal line: "in such situations it's easy to see with the heart rather than the eyes...". The 'goal' was disallowed and Boston won a famous victory.
