Wow, entered the Rockie Mountains five hours ago and are just coming through them now with this amazing gorge. We reached a height of over 9000 feet and proceeded at a very sedate 45 mph all the way. Dining on the train is an experience as they insist you fill up each table of four and socialise. This has made for a few interesting conversations about the American way of life and their expectations. Apparently we will go through the desert, probably and unfortunately, during the night, where we head next for Salt Lake City. Both hoping for a better and longer night's sleep as we had to put out clocks back last night so were up at 5.20 this morning.
