09/12/12 (Sunday)
This morning Ken took us to take our hire car back to the Phoenix Airport and then we went and picked up the motorhome. I very bravely drove back to Ken & Chris's house and Danielle and I loaded our gear onboard before setting off on our drive to Lake Havasu to visit Tom who is a friend of Paul & Sandy's who we met in Teacapan, Mexico last visit. He is from Wabasha in Minnesota and has rented Ken & Chris's 5th wheel for the winter. Ken & Chris plus Gabby & Stanley (their 2 basset hounds) set off in their car and Danielle and I followed in the motorhome. 3 hours later and we arrived safe and sound at Sand Point Marina and RV Park. I reversed dear Matilda into our site for the night FIRST GO (with a little direction from Ken & Danielle). We had a lovely night catching up with Tom after a lovely dinner which he cooked for us. We sat around chatting well into the night until the breeze got too cold and we had to go to bed. Ken & Chris, Danielle & I and Gabby & Stanley all slept in our motorhome - nice and cozy!!!!!
10/12/12 (Monday)
We got up and had breakfast together before saying goodbye to Tom. Ken & Chris headed back to Buckeye and Danielle and I headed on to Anaheim. We left Lake Havasu at 11.30am and 6 ½ hours of driving later, we finally arrived save and sound! Again I reversed the motorhome into our site at the Anaheim RV Village near Disneyland and got her all straight and level first go (thanks to Danielle's directions of course). We walked down the road and got subway for dinner (it was the closest thing) then we came back we caught up with Liz and Alyssa on skype for the first time since we've been away. No one has called us at all so we've been feeling a bit unloved L Sorry - Valjene has called but we missed her call!!!! We did the last of our laundry and packed our bags ready to head off to Washington DC tomorrow (we haven't weighed them yet though). We went and watched the Disneyland fireworks from outside of our motorhome too. It's always such a fantastic fireworks display. I can't wait for Mia and Alyssa to see them. I decided that we didn't have to go to Disneyland to see them though and we could just walk over to the RV Park and watch the fireworks for free but Danielle didn't think that Mia would be too impressed with my suggestion. J Danielle went off to bed but I am determined to get this blog and photos finished and uploaded before I climb into bed also. We will be putting the motorhome into storage here in Anaheim tomorrow ready for when everyone arrives here on 1/1. We're on a red eye flight to Washington DC from Los Angeles tomorrow night (to save on a motel for the night) so I know I wont get it done then.
We hope that everyone at home is keeping safe and well as we are here. We're thoroughly enjoying ourselves and looking forward to setting off to the east coast tomorrow night. We'll keep facebooking, blogging and sending photos as often as we can along the way. We'll look forward to receiving more messages on our website also! Lots of love to everyone!!!!!
