Noyelles Travels
Sunday 28th February
At sea on a damp day with a
reasonable swell but little rolling & pitching. As usual, a couple
of good lectures & a very poor result in an individual quiz filled
the day.
Monday 29th February
Our last day at sea with fair weather.
Attended the last lectures of the presenters & made a slightly better showing at the last individual quiz. Talked to the cellist about her work & was surprised that she arranges pop music scores for recording. She had applied unsuccessfully to join Birdy's band but keeps busy with session & other work.
Tuesday 1st March
Luckily we gained another hour as Jane woke up at 5am to see lights & we found we were about a km from the Sydney Harbour Bridge nearly at Circular Quay. We rushed up but unfortunately neither the Opera House or the Bridge were floodlit so they couldn't be photographed well. Apparently the ship had to berth before 6am so that it didn't interfere with the ferry traffic.
After breakfast we were off Arcadia by 8.30 with a minimum of fuss & went for a decent coffee in the Rocks.
Because of time constraints we took a train to the airport, checked in our bags & walked the miles to the gate at the end of the world for our flight back to Perth.
Anna picked us up in Perth & we had an early night.
