Natalie's adventures
just got back from a night on Rottnest Island. Got the ferry there yesterday morning. Saw three groups of dolphins swimming in the Swan river on the way there. Rode around the Island for a few hours in the afternoon. The Island is famous for its Quokkas (small wallaby type animals). One started licking my bag as I tried to take a picture of it!! I spent the night at the YHA hostel which is in an old army barracks. My dorm was the Commanders room!! Today I went on a walking tour then did some more cycling, still a bit saddle sore from yesterday!! There was a Quokka outside my room this morning and it sat on my foot and started to eat my shoe laces. They are quite tame from people feeding them (you aren't supposed to). The Island is really beautiful and the weather is great for this time of year apparently although it did rain a bit yesterday morning. Got the ferry back to Perth where I'm sitting at the moment filling this jounal in!
