From Ho Chi Minh City we took an overnight bus to Nha Trang. The bus was nothing like those in South America more like the greyhounds in Australia really. Very uncomfortable and difficult to get any sleep especially when the driver has his hands depressed on the horn for much of the journey!.
Anyway we arrived the next day at about 6.30am. Nha Trang is renowned to have one of the most beautiful coast lines in the world. It is also known for its excellent scuba diving and snorkelling. Unfortunately the first day we arrived, it rained all day. This meant we couldn't visit the beach or go on a snorkelling tour as the visibility would be poor. We were kinda thankful for the rain though, its been so hot here, Cambodia too. Its kind of a humid heat, we really miss the weather back home (I know we never thought we'd be saying that either!). The rain cooled everything down so we were quite grateful for that.
We spent the evening sampling the local beer, the Saigon is very nice and cheap too about 30p for a 440ml bottle.
The next day the weather still wasn't great so we decided to visit a few temples instead of hitting the beach. We saw a great reclining Buddha and a huge White buddha statue at the top of a hill at Long Son Pagoda, quite impressive.
We also visited the Po Nagar Cham Towers which were built between the 7th and 12th century. Each tower is a shrine to a different deity.Won't bore you all too much with the details we're sure you've all had enough of temples and stuff too.
Our next bus is another overnighter to Hoi An. Hmm nice!
