Alreet???
Country number 4 on our little tour, Cambodia. This is our last new Country before heading back into Thailand.
We arrived in Phnom Penh after another 6 hour bus journey and a wee ferry ride. When we got there we consulted the anti-guide on where to stay, the riverside we eventually headed for. After a Tuk-Tuk ride to a Hotel we headed out for a drink on the river, as it was Cambodian election day alot of places were closed, champion. We bumped into two of Rick's mates who were on Holiday from Korea, they took us to where they were staying on the Lakeside. It was much better on the Lakeside, and far more chilled. After a few more drinks and games of pool we headed back to our hole to sleep.
The next day i awoke to the sound of my bed braking, and after a cold shower in a red hot room we decided to move Lakeside. We found a place which was worse than our Original Hotel, but for $5 a night between 3 of us we weren't complaining. After that we headed to the Museam (i know), it was an old Cambodian School that the Khemer Rouge turned into a prison and used it to Imprison and Torture people when they took over. It wasnt the nicest place to visit but it gave a bit of an insight into what the people went through. After that we went Swimming in the Hotel Phnom Penh, very swanky for the Rabble. That night we didn't alot just chilled out, we were Knackered.
Gaz had a full day planned for us the next day, hooray. We first went to the Shooting range, were we fired 30 bullets each of an AK-47, i wasn't exactly confident about it a first especially after i seen it blow up in Gaz's face. Luckily it was only smoke, although he didn't seem to pleased. But aye it was well good, and after we all had a pose with the guns, the hard men that we are. We than went to the Killing Fields, which was where the people from the School/Prison were sent the be Killed, Lovely. It was just a big field of what looked like Bomb craters, they were really mass graves. There were clothes lying around all over and a huge monument with alot of skulls in it. It was good to visit but we couldnt imagine what really happened there. After that little lot we needed a drink, so we went out down the river, in an attempt to get blotto.
We headed down to Sihnoukville the next day for a few days of Drink and Sun, or so we thought...
Sooooo Night Night Campers, See you in Sinhoukville xx
P.S. The Orangutan was the only picture they had for Cambodia, and before you start it does not look like me.
